Somalia Public dialogue delegation in talks at Lancaster house 10th – 11th May 2017

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in collaboration with the Somali Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) is set to gather in London for high level consultations on the Somalia Public Private Dialogue (SOMPPD) platform on 10th and 11th May, 2017 in a conference organized by the UK Government. The aim of the meeting which will be held at Lancaster House is to encourage a culture of transparency and accountability within the public sector, while improving and empowering the private sector activities throughout the country, and offer the public and private sector a platform to create solutions together on issues impeding business.


Public-Private dialogue is a participative and inclusive approach from the beginning of the reform process. The collaboration of public and private sector in Somalia is an ongoing process. The PPD mechanism provides a new enabling framework for all existing entities. Somalia’s potential benchmarks well in the world .The PPD mechanism will help to reinforce these global positions where sustainable growth will be solidified through strengthening state capacity and legitimacy.


The Somalia Public Private Dialogue is a new way to harmonize consensus building between government and the business community by building an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding towards larger business growth. Over 60 participants are expected at the meeting which will be led by His Excellency Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmaajo)
